Round by Round Coverage; Hatton vs. Urango

A night of redemption will hit Las Vegas when Ricky Hatton of England and Jose Luis Castillo of Mexico, fight in separate bouts at the Paris Casino. Hatton (40-0, 31 KOS) makes his anticipated return to the junior welterweight division when he meets undefeated IBF champion Juan Urango (17-0-1, 13 KOs) of Colombia.

In his last outing against Luis Collazo at the welterweight limit of 147-pounds, Hatton put on a lackluster performance. He was lucky to escape the fight with a twelve-round decision, and Collazo's WBA welterweight title.

To make the leap to the welterweight division, Hatton vacated the IBF junior welterweight title. Urango, a tough slugger with good power, won the vacant IBF title that was left by Hatton and now must defend it against a man coming back to reclaim the belt he never lost in the ring. Hatton makes his second appearance before a live HBO audience, and also achieves one of his dreams by fighting for the first time in Las Vegas.

He must redeem himself to the American public by putting forth a spectacular performance over Urango. Urango has power and is physically large for a 140-pounder, but he is severely lacking the necessary technical skills to beat an elite fighter like Hatton.

In the co-feature, Jose Luis Castillo (54-7-1, 47 KOs) makes his long awaited return to the ring by facing undefeated Herman Ngoudjo (15-0, 9 KOs) of Cameroon, now living in Montreal. [details]
