They both are seminal figures in boxing. They both are great contributors to the spectacle.

gotta be Ali. It's sad that philly has a statue of Rocky and not of it's real fighting legend Frazier.

I really don't think that this is any question at all.

Stallone did not actually fight or promote any fights. Ali became the greatest sports icon of all time.

        is this a joke?

Muhammad ali was not only the most famous athlete of his generation and possibly all time, but there was almost a decade where muhammad ali was the single most famous PERSON in the entire planet.

Stalone made 5 good movies that did nothing for the sport but make it seem like a joke sorta. Poeple enjoyed them, but they didnt become boxing fans because of them

Its clear that Dolph Lundren (sp) aka Drogo was a greater contributer to boxing than either Stallone or Ali. Drogo was the inspiration and the catalyst for todays present crop of Soviet Block Heavy Weights.

I always thought the same thing. why have a statue of a fictional boxer, when Frazier is real world champ. I also say it's gotta be Ali, without him the sport would be dead. The only thing the Rocky movies did was make people inspired, and wanna watch an actual boxing match, but it didn't contribute anything.

i wouldn't call the movies a joke, because it's because of those movies that I started watching boxing, and becoming a fan, but it didn't contribute anything. Once I started wathcing boxing it was Ali that made me a die-hard boxing fan. So all in all Ali made a huge contribution to the sport.

                No, it's not.

Ali right now is still one of the most recognizable world figures.

If it wasn't for Ali, Stallone wouldn't have banked in on wepner's "stand" against the king of boxing.
