I sure he will be in great shape, seeing how he will be at featherweight and im sure he wants to end his career with a win.

Tapias book about his life is amazing.
I believe his mother was kidnapped at gunpoint in front of him and taken away in a pickup truck and gang****d then murdered.

He had a very tough life. He was born to fight.

          My hats off to him.

I was reading the news at ********* and it mentions Tapias son is going to fight his first amature fight in Febuary. And that all his sons want to be boxers. And that Tapia is training his son to box. The Tapia Legend will continue with his sons. Im sure somone will have video of there sons fighting.

                Heres part of the interview.........
“It’s time to hang it up and let the younger fighters take over,” said Tapia, mentioning pro fighters Hector Munoz, Lee Montoya and David Martinez as possible torch-bearers.

But there are other possibilities—including his own son, Jonathan, who, at 14, will enter the ring for the first time on an amateur card in Phoenix in February.

Tapia has mixed feelings about his son wanting to fight:

“I wish he wouldn’t .. but I’ll be there for him. I don’t know what I’ll do when someone hits him . . . but I’m there to support him. I’ve got three sons and they all want to be fighters. I’ll be there for him.”

Jonathon has been trained by his father along with Daniel Martinez, in Farmington, where they currently reside.

“I’m nervous, but I’ve seen my dad fight so many times that I decided I wanted to fight,” said the youngster. “He’s been showing me what to do. He’s got all the experience . . .”

After Tapia retires in February, he plans to open a gym in Farmington and train fighters.
