Why, because he knocked out 2 future H.O.F. fighters as well as two of the best of our generation? People can go ahead and save the blown up welter arguement in Tito's case....because he carried his power and speed to MW. He was the first person to Stop Joppy who was a full fledged MW with an iron chin.

He'll even Taylor couldn't stop Joppy after hitting him with the kitchen sink. Anyway you cut it....a fight against DLH is a good fight. People can point to the "oh he's washed up" or "he doesn't belong at MW in the first place". That's irreleveant because Oscar was moving UP to fight him. Instead of living off the legacy of fighting smaller guys......Nard MOVED UP to LHW and won the Undisputed Championship at 42 years old.

        LMFAO.....overrated my ass.

          LMFAO.
His best wins came against two fighters who were not at their best at middleweight.
His resume is extremly weak, and faced the same average fighters over and over again.
Hop MIGHT be a top 5 MW, but isnt close to a top 25 fighter of all time.

How can you discredit Trinidad when he was coming off an impressive 4 round destruction of Joppy? He was favored to beat Hopkins easily BTW.

It seems convenient to just point to him being blown up.

                  Joppy isnt that good.
Tito wasnt at his best and middleweight isnt his natural weight.
Compare Hopkins record to SSR's, Leonards, Haglers, Greb's or Monzon's.
                  Theres just NO comparison.

not just what RUN said but hops fought a very close fight with RJJ - who everyone agrees was great, and Joppy was never the same after Hops ****ed him up.

i wouldn't mention greb if i were u, there's at least one member of this site who thinks greb couldn't even beat one of todays's club fighters
