    Jose Sulaiman: "Pacquiao-Barrera Will Happen"

Even though the much anticipated second clash between wily boxer Marco Antonio Barrera and blockbuster Manny Pacquiao is currently stalled, due to legal problems, World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman insists that it will become a “Fall” reality.

Many boxing fans are fretting about the delay in a second showdown, particularly Mexicans, who are clamoring to witness Marco avenge his 2003 eleventh round KO defeat, dished out by an marvelously on form Manny who’s since overcome a fistful of other Mexican greats.

Speaking at a coffee break meeting with reporters in the downtown offices of the WBC, Don Jose commented: “This is a puzzle that not even money has been able to resolve, so we took the only step that could be taken. We authorized Barrera to make a voluntary defense of his world title, and Pacquiao to make a voluntary defense of his International title.

“Once those fights have been held, and hopefully the court will have a ruling about the law suit between Golden Boy and Top Rank, in three or four months, then the WBC will proceed with a purse offer.

“And that fight WILL take place, because Manny Pacquiao wants to fight Barrera and Marco Antonio Barrera wants to fight Pacquiao. It’ll happen during Autumn, I think.”

barrera is a dead man walking.

hopefully 4 his sake he'll lose to marquez and not take too much of a beating.

In as much as I wanted MAB to win against JMM, I truly feel that JMM will get the victory.

This is the 3rd time this week that I've read Sulaiman make that bold statement that the MAB/PAC fight happen.

Yes he did mention JMM to be a dangerous opponent for MAB but still the bold statement intrigues me. I'm now thinking that JMM needs to KO MAB to ensure victory or he'll get robbed in the scorecards.

What do you people feel about this?

ditto Bro, that's just what's in my head but obviously Sulaiman feels the other way around.

mab-jmm has stink potential, but it can also be a very intriguing tactical fight.

on the other hand, pac is all wrong for mab, and will demolish him again.

pac-jmm 2 would be nice though.

Well that's a more logical fight now.

Pac demolished MAB, and Pac drew with JMM. So if JMM wins then a PAC/JMM rematch will be bigger.

And now that it's been said, one of them will lose their next bout. I think Marquez beats Barrera. At first I was taking Barrera, but now that everyone is looking to the fall, it's already over. Barrera or Pacquiao will lose their next bout, and I have to go with Barrera losing his.

MAB's last stinker of a fight against Juarez doesnt show me much.
I'd pray that MAB doesnt get decapitated by Pac. MAB is an all time great but way past his prime.

It's realistic to see it that way.

But my question is why is Sulaiman very confident that it's gonna be a MAB/Pac fight rather than a JMM/Pac fight.
