all who have seen hatton vs collazo know that ricky hatton doesnt belong at welterweight. all who have not seen hatton collazo should either see the fight, or just read this thread.
we dont need anymore dumbass threads that ask "hatton vs margarito/floyd/mosley/williams/cotto or whoever at 147, who wins?"
ricky hatton had ONE fight at 147 and he looked like ****. and there was NO CONTROVERSY EITHER. hatton KDd collazo in the 1st and managed to make it to the 12th and win a clean decision. theres no way that collazo overcame that KD to win 7 rounds to retain his belt. granted, ricky looked like **** in that fight, but he still won fair and square. it was close, but ricky still won.
that fight made several things clear about ricky hatton: he doesnt belong at 147, he doesnt fare well against southpaws, and he'd lose to damn near any natural welterweight at welterweight.
hatton's too small for that weight class. his chin is as good, but his punch and stamina are not. collazo is not a puncher and he had ricky out on his feet in the 12th. that was evidence enough.
now, floyd, margarito, cotto, williams, and mosley would all decimate hatton if they fought at 147. they're all bigger, taller, stronger, and they're all natural welterweights. hatton could never beat any of them at 147.
however, if some of those fights happend at 140, then hatton would at least be able to beat floyd and cotto and might have some chance against mosley. at 140, hatton's a beast. hes fast, hes tough, hes busy, and hes bull-strong. he has none of those qualities at 147.
i've said it many times in this thread alone and i'll say it again just to put the nail in the coffin of ricky hatton's career at welterweight: RICKY HATTON DOES NOT BELONG AT 147! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
