Sylvester Stallone Turned Down Mike Tyson Fight

Rocky Balboa is not afraid of getting in the ring with Antonio Tarver, but he was scared to death of former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. Sylvester Stallone told media outlet ContactMusic that Tyson contacted him repeatedly to land the role as Stallone's final ring opponent in the Rocky series. [details]

That would have made the film A LOT better. Everyone knows who Tyson is and everyone knows he's one tough hombre.

That could have a great plot change. One for the ages.

The movie wouldnt have been better, I think most of you guys missed the story. Mason Dixon was a character that was trying to find out who he was, Tyson would not have played the role as well. When we think of Tyson we see a crazy bully, not a redeeming character.

                Movie would have ******, IMO.

Tyson has a lisp. His voice is high pitched. And everyone knows that even a fictional Rocky will not beat Tyson.

In fact, Rocky and Tyson both fight like bulls. Not exactly a good story, although it would have generated more interest. But in the long run, I think it's better Tyson was not signed on.

His voice is no longer high pitched.
The lisp is still crisp, however.
