  • what was the Last sanction 15 Round Title fight

what was the Last title fight scheduled for 15 rounds, Some boxing historians referred to Holyfield-Qawi as the "Last Great 15 round war" but I know the IBF is still sanctioning 15 round title fights involving asian fighters at lower weight classes in the late 80s and cant recall what was the last. the WBC were the first to reduced their championship round limit from 15 to 12 rounds. the WBA soon followed.

I don't know but I think Championship fights should be 15 rounds again and regular fights 12 rounds.

honestly, I still seen on TV live the Spinks-Holmes fights, sooner the 15 round title fights got scrapped by the 3 governing bodies without much fanfare.

According to Boxrec The last 15-round world title bout was for the IBF Minimumweight Title on August 29, 1988 between Sithnarvepol and In-Kyu Hwang. It took place in ****kok and was held about 2 weeks prior to the first fight between Calvin Grove and Jorge Paez which was a 15 rounder for the IBF Featherweight Title.
