    From wikipedia:

"At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Mayweather won a bronze medal by reaching the semifinals of the featherweight (57 kg)[6] division's 31-boxer tournament. In the opening round, Mayweather led 10-1 on points over Bakhtiyar Tileganov of Kazakhstan before he won by round 2 referee stoppage. In the second round, Mayweather outpointed Artur Gevorgyan of Armenia 16-3. In the quarterfinals, Mayweather survived a late rally by Lorenzo Aragon of Cuba to win 12-11. In his semifinal bout against the eventual silver medalist, Serafim Todorov of Bulgaria, Mayweather lost by a controversial decision that the U.S. team officially protested. Nearly everyone who saw the bout, including the referee, thought that Mayweather had won. However, the international judges, whom U.S. boxing coach Al Mitchell called "a bunch of mobsters," ruled the bout 10-9 for Todorov.[7]"

It sounds like he just got robbed, but its impossible to say unless someone has a video of the fight. Even then olympic scoring is so unpredictable though.

I think I remember that fight and being impressed by Mayweather's handspeed, I also remember Tarver at the Olympics and being impressed by the overhand lefts he kept throwing (didn't even jab) - vast majority found their mark, looked effective and awkward. I'm sure it was Tarver. And I'm sure it was Mayweather with the handspeed, featherweight (57kg) right?

Rocky Juarez and Ricardo Williams its is said got robbed of there gold medal and had to settle for the silver. I didn't get a chance to see these fights due to nbc's and telemundos wack scheduling of olympic boxing.

Also Fernando Vargas was robbed in the 2 round of the olympic games.

I do remember when Augie Sanchez beat Floyd Mayweather in the Olympic trails then Mayweather won the other fights. If Augie Sanchez had a better chin or defence, he would have been World Champion for a good while.

                Fernando Vargas got robbed???
                Bull!

I saw that bout & he was easily outpointed. The guy he was fighting simply outworked him. Vargas not impressive at all.

As for Mayweather, the guy who beat him was a former amateur champ who was very good at playing the amateur system. Quick light scoring jab then move. Mayweather would of won if it was a pro bout, but it wasn't.
(He was also lucky to sc**** past the cuban)

It was reported in America media that Vargas was robbed as well as the USA boxing coachs and all felt Vargas was robbed. But when on tv, Vargas said, he ain't going to dwell on the past and move forward and into the pros.

What did you think of Ricardo Rocky Juarez and Ricardo Williams Gold medal round?
