    De La Hoya vs. Whitaker...

Just downloaded and watched it again... Whitaker was definitely not in his prime yet he put on an impressive performance... Landed more punches... Hit at a higher percentage... Even scored a knockdown... Scores of 116-110 (2) and 115-111 was ridiculous... Merchant had Whitaker up one point going into the 12th and Lederman had him down one point... Jim Lampley was holding onto Oscar's nuts the entire fight... Is he still like that with Oscar? Roy Jones seemed to call the fight as he saw it, not with a bias view (Lampley)... Oh and that accidental headbutt point ****** too...

Oh yeah? Like against who outside of Chavez and Oscar? If anything he's administered the short end of the stick too many times.

It was a close fight that I gave Oscar-the problem that I see from mayfolks who think Sweat Pea won is that they refer to it as a roberry which is a joke-Whitaker ws robbed against JC Superstar but that same term absolutely does not apply regarding his fight with Oscar.

his very first loss was a robbery ...so outside of his very last fight you can say whitikar should only have 1 loss ..

Ring Magazine basically considers his draw against chavez as a win for him, that's why they rank him as a better fighter than chavez. According to them, sweet pea is the 10th best fighter ever, that is pretty impressive to make the top 10 of all times if you are a modern fighter. Cuz this sport is biased towards older guys. The fact that oscar struggled against an old whitaker should tell everyone he is getting embrassed by floyd this may. Oscar just beats up on the b level guys. When was his last big win, vargas was like 4 years ago.

Yes I agree it was a close fight but, I believe he still won... When you hit more than you get hit... Not to mention they were counting shots that weren't clean shots to say the least... It was interesting to hear Lampley Oooing and Aaaaing Oascar and then RJJr and Merchant would say, those aren't clean shots... Or when Lampley said "this is a score keepers nightmare" "Whitaker is getting in more shots but, Oscars are more punishing" and then RJJr says "(More punishing) So you think..."...

                  of course lampley did that.

his favoritism for oscar, taylor, and barrera is pathetic.
