im not going to lie. im not a very confident person myself.ahaha. when i get hit like 10times a round its disappointing and i think of what the **** i did and can i improve.and it seems like my parents dont give a **** about me in boxing, but when i tell them to go to a meet they go but they dont give me advice in training and stuff like that.but they r supportive but i dunno i dont feel to confident really.

but for tyson it maybe that no1 believed in him until he started punching and ppl saw what he had.but when ppl started using him and telling him lies and knowingly feeding his ego he started realizing.Tyson was only confident with ppl he could trust and feel comfortable with as in telling them things in my opinion.

You gotta believe in yourself man. I know how much parental support means to a son/daughter but it's just a sad fact that sometimes it just isn't there. It seems to me, from reading your posts and discussing various things with you that you're in it because you have a passion for it. And at the end of the day that counts more than the support of anybody in the world.

I agree 100%. If Tyson had Ali's or Marciano's confidence in himself he would have been unbeaten probably until around now, as he's turned 40. Actually...considering the weak division...

86-90 was a weak division. But i wouldnt say the heavyweight division was weak from 91-97. Tyson vs lennox or bowe between that time frame would have been interesting.

Doesn't it though? You can't pay me to watch a heavyweight fight these days, honestly. I still believe that Tyson could get back on track as well. I'm sure some of his punching power remains, he just needs to spark that fire again, to fuel that aggression and drive his hunger to compel him to not just fight, but win. Not for the money, but to take back what should still be rightfully his.

Anytime man. I think it's natural for a fighter to question if they will ever go anywhere with what they're doing. I'm no fighter myself but I imagine it's hard to keep that level of confidence up all the time, without rest. You're only human man, we question ourselves all the time. And there's nothing wrong with that.

And if you never go where you want to go with boxing, I hope you can rest a little easier in knowing that even still, you had the balls to climb through those ropes and do what so few are willing to do : give it your all. There's no shame in that at all man, what is a shame is the fact that over 70% of the population never follow their dreams. You doing just that says a lot about your character.
