Should James Toney Retire?

Toney's technique is so good that he can make up for his declining strength, agility, and overall athleticism in the ring, but the time has come for him to just to call it a career, and a great ****in career at that.Leave a comment:

if he came in at 220 he would have won the fight .. he got too big and lost too much speed.. too much muscle , he was top heavyOh yes I bet he can go down in weight if he really wanted to. That's not his natural weight after all. He just don't want to go down too much in weight now because he is fighting much bigger and heavier guys.
I'll say take a six months or better a year rest while working out on his weight then comeback next year as a completely new fighter in the light heavy.
I don't know I just hate to see those fighting skills go to waste.Leave a comment:

i think it was the worst style match up for james.. peter is the biggest fastest strongest youngest heavyweight right now. peter may be the best in the world right now I, and i think james wasnt expecting him to improve that much.. you can really see how much peter loves boxing , and when you love somehting you just keep improving if he gets better he could be a forceLeave a comment:

He's not getting hurt. The knockdown was a fluke. He was off-balance. Why retire? There are so many crappier heavyweights out there.....Leave a comment:

if he did i would commend him on a smart and respectable decision. but i don't expect him to retire. i hope he can weasel his way into a bigger fight against one of the slow ****-bag heavyweights- i just want him to get a belt and be satisfied. cos then he actually might consider retiring.
but there are some guys he doesn't need to **** with at heavyweight right now too. and the pickings for james are just going to get slimmer the older he gets. but let me just say that i have a strong feeling we might be seeing a toney/holyfield rematch soon if evander knocks out another bum.
it makes a lot of sense for both fighters and it's something showtime or hbo could actually find acceptable to promote.Leave a comment:

I dont think thats going to happen, he cant even get down to 220 but like i said he still has the skills to outbox alot of these slow ass heavy's. I think he should keep on fighting untill he wins a belt.Leave a comment:

I do believe Toney is not done yet but I also believe he should now start thinking of going down in weight. He's just not that much competitive in the heavy weight division because of his size.Leave a comment:
