Toney made an honest showing but it was hard to give him any rounds, and I think giving him more than two is nearly impossible. It was not Matweather - Baldomir but 120-107 was not an impossible scorecard.

C'mon guys I like Toney enough but let's stop looking for consolation. This is getting like the threads from last spring in which some people were claiming 'Gatti was turning the fight around when he got caught'. It just ain't so.

KAYJAY.. GOD knows I am NOT a Toney fan... I wish him ill will and I am extremely happy he lost 2wice now to Sam Peter..
I am not defending Toney inasmuch as I am just not about to declare Sam Peter the next Ali because he outboxed a smaller fat OLD guy who was at least 3 years past his sell by date..

My only regret is that Toneys mouth never actully got him in the ring with a Klitschko... That would have been something to treasure...

Just as a general statement..

A fighter can win every single round and STILL be in a close fight.. Its akin to your fave Basketball team losing 10 straight games to another team.. But never by more than 3 points ( you know? a lot of 103-101 scores) Your record..0-10! but damn werent all those games close?

watch it carefully. peter only won by 2 rounds imo. toney was making him miss a lot, and the 2nd half of the fight peter did *** all like toney but jus landed a lil more to steal it.
