Castillo vs. Hatton?

I am British and I saw Hatton coming up from before he turned professional; I know what he's about and what he has become. But living in the North Americas is a different ball game altogether. There's no comparison between the opponents that Hatton has done in with body shots and the people that Mike McCallum did in, and Chavez, and a list of fighters les than famous that the other guys from the UK would know about if they had HBO for the last ten years. It's not their fault; it's just that boxing coverage in the UK stinks. There's a lot more happening than that which emanates from the Frank Warren stable.
I am proud to see our fighters do well, but not at the expense of common sense.Comment

There's a huge difference between Paul Williams and Ricky Hatton. Both talk about wanting to fight the best, but Paul Williams has actually been trying to enforce his mandatory with Margarito while Hatton has flat out ducked the man he always talks about, Floyd Mayweather. I don't care if Hatton fights in the US or UK, he needs to stop calling out fighters he never intends to face...please **** off and die, you trolling bastard. If hatton was a yank who beat his wife and had dark skin he would get ten times more respect than he does at the minute. Just look at paul williams, he's had 32 fights in which he has proved nothing, yet you lot are all over his tool.Comment

How can you compare fighting Margarito (overrated, bum - which even you'll admit) to fighting Kosta Tszyu - who was top 3 P4P at the time? There's a huge difference between Paul Williams and Ricky Hatton. You can't.Comment

I'm glad you think Hatton would win. Too bad Hatton doesn't or else he wouldn't have ducked Floyd in November...I'm betting my house on it.
The deciding factor will, 100% be speed. Hatton punches better up-close than anybody, and closes the distance faster than anybody - so it will be a case of whether Mayweather can land his shots before Hatton is able to close the gap, because otherwise Hatton will get the better of him. I have no doubt that Mayweather has great handspeed, but I know from watching Ricky in the gym just how great his leverages are in closing the gap. You saw flashes of this trait in the Tszyu fight, but he can close the gap faster than that.
So I think Hatton can close the gap before Mayweather can land his shots. But if he can't, he'll lose.

Where did I even mention Tsyzu? I said Paul Williams is actually trying to make a fight with Margarito. Hatton talks about Mayweather all the time, yet makes no effort to make the fight. We could have seen Mayweather-Hatton in November, but your boy turned it down saying he was already planning to defend against Urkal. He's a flat out liar...Comment

Ricky Hatton was considered the Paul Williams of 2005, he was the one looking for the title fight, looking to make a big name of himself, often ducked and messed about with.
But he actually got his shot and pulled through, which is something that Paul Williams is yet to do.Comment

I've observed and rolodexed what he's describing.I've never seen anybody step off to load up their bodyshots like Hatton does or step around to open an opponent up as well as he does.
He's probably left more people pissing blood than anybody ever, and every time he opens an opponent up he lands the shot right into the pit of the stomach - every time.
Hatton does appear to have something extra in body work.Comment

Anyone who struggles with weak-chinned Corrales would get the piss whipped out of them by Ricky Hatton. Castillo has a lot of balls, he's got that short punching mexican style but he would get cleanly outfought by Ricky Hatton. Ricky Hatton has the edge in every area except toughness.Comment
