Castillo vs. Hatton?

That's a good point about Paul Williams. I never thought about it that way. The only reason Hatton is not very respected, is because he never fights in the U.S. and when he did he got whipped.please **** off and die, you trolling bastard. If hatton was a yank who beat his wife and had dark skin he would get ten times more respect than he does at the minute. Just look at paul williams, he's had 32 fights in which he has proved nothing, yet you lot are all over his tool.Comment

I'm betting my house on it.
The deciding factor will, 100% be speed. Hatton punches better up-close than anybody, and closes the distance faster than anybody - so it will be a case of whether Mayweather can land his shots before Hatton is able to close the gap, because otherwise Hatton will get the better of him. I have no doubt that Mayweather has great handspeed, but I know from watching Ricky in the gym just how great his leverages are in closing the gap. You saw flashes of this trait in the Tszyu fight, but he can close the gap faster than that.
So I think Hatton can close the gap before Mayweather can land his shots. But if he can't, he'll lose.Comment

I am not a floyd fan
floyd vs hatton, would be a boxing clinic. I seriously doubt hatton would land 1 single punch on floyd. complete utter dominance. personification of the word "OWNED"Comment

As a fan, I would love to see that fight. As a person of compassion, I would hate to see you lose your house. Hatton is not bad, but he's NEVER shown that he could be good enough to beat a great boxer. Collazo is a decent boxer and beat up on Hatton.I'm betting my house on it.

First of all he didn't get 'whipped' against Collazo, he won a close decision and rightfully so in my opinion. Juts because Collazo came closer than anyone previously had to beating Hatton doesn't suddenly mean that he got 'whipped' and if you disagree then I have no respect for your opinion.
90% Of you posters on the Boxing Scene forums are clearly mislead and clueless, seriously.
Hatton V Castillo is a bit tough to call at the moment but my current prediction would be Hatton via late TKO or points. I agree with Geoff Hayes that Castillo doesn't know what's coming to him as I think all fighters Mayweather included would get a shock if they fought Hatton. I'm not a 'nuthugger' I'm just a boxing fan and I think Hatton is a class above anyone at 140. Yes, he might not have all the technical ability of Mayweather but he does have a hell of alot of ability that he incorporates into his style along with the sheer will and determination to pressure his opponents relentlessly which make him the man to beat at Light-Welter; no matter who he is facing.Comment

If Mayweather is to beat Hatton, he has to be with the kind of sharpness he had against Gatti and Hatton's speed at closing the gap has to be lesser than I think it is. Mayweather can't fight him, and he can't run (can't allow Hatton to get him on the ropes because he'll be tee'd off on up and down from all angles). Mayweather has to box then brawl. Put a jab out there, move, then stand his ground, fight then reset. Just like Leonard did in the rematch with Duran. If they stay for prolonged periods of time it doesn't favour them because it forces things like stamina and strength to be an issue and this is what guys like Duran, Chavez and Hatton had/have in abundance. I'd trust the Mayweather of the Chavez fight to do the right thing. Though I accept guys with bias might score the fight close. But Hatton would have to be slower at closing the gap than I think he is/can be.

this is something you will want to record and show it to teach young lads. you cannot deny skill, talent, speed, intelligence. you gotta give credit where credit is due. as much as I dislike floyd, the man will put on a show when and if he gets in the ring with hatton. he will make it look easy, and beautiful at the same time.Comment
