I really try to like Toney but the guy has no class. I love watching him fight but that's as far as it goes.
Peter is still being overhyped. Showtime is obviously trying to sell him as the next best thing. The guy has a lot of holes in his defense and his punches and footwork are still sloppy. At least he's humble and doesn't act like the world owes him anything.
Toney is cool though his talking can be annoying. I love his old school style and slick, elusiveness. Too bad he didn't bring it completely with him tonight. Tonight was abunch of woa's to me. I didn't expect to see Jose TKOed, nor did I expect to see Toney get dominated. I mean sure, it wasn't as bad as Rivera though it never felt like Toney won a round. He was in the fight though not winning rounds.
I think the problem with the post-Toney talk was not that he lost to Peter (he's much smarter than to think he won tonight's fight) but that he hates Peter's manager/promoter team and it was a bit of a blow to the self-esteem to lose with them in Peters corner
And while i throughly agree Toney lost this fight, JT won the first fight still IMO
I think Peter connected ALOT better tonight and i don't think Toney was as good defensively as he should have been early on in the fight. I agree with Al Bernstein in that he could do very well in the Cruiserweight division if he could get there weight-wise... he's gonna always have trouble with "naturally" big heavyweights which Peter perfectly fits the mold for.
