That's right Soto should get the title shot first before Marquez.

I also want to correct some "MIS INTERPRETATIONS" posted in the early part of this thread. Pacquiao didn't turned down MAB. In fact Arum's offer of $2.5 Mil was one week earllier than GBP's offer. Just making sure that people doesn't miss the fact.

I'll be damn, if MAB's gonna be stpipped of the title then that means Sotto and Pac will fight for the belt.

Looks like Barrera must deal with Arum if he wants to keep his belt, Pacquiao and Soto being in the Arum fold. It's interesting what shall happen when Arum's deadline lapses.

If WBC strips Barrera, Pacquiao and Soto shall face up for the vacated throne.

        Clever devil, that Arum.

I'll still buy Barrera-JMM even if it's made without any belt on the line.

Pal If I were Barrera I'll fight Soto instead of JMM.

            Hi there buddy!

I'm not as choosy, pal. I'll take Barrera-JMM, Barrera-Soto (as you suggest), Pacquiao-Barrera II, Pacquiao-JMM II, JMM-Soto and Pacquiao- Soto, in any order, just as long as they all happen.

Hope too that they all happen in 07 till early 08.

Well same here Pal, I'm not gonna miss any of those fights with belt or without belt on the line. But what I mean is that, at this point and time since WBC wouldn't sanction his fight with JMM then MAB might as well fight Soto if he won't fight Pacquiao.

I just saw a news article with Arum talking about the Pac/MAB fight still being a real posibilty at this point, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. A Pac/MAB fight may still happen.

Pac-MAB as still a possibility is as good a bit of news as can be had under the current situation pal.

Yeah, if MAB wants to have a chance at keeping his belt, he should deal with Arum-- Pac and Soto being Arum fighters. I wonder, though, if Arum, sly operator as he is, would offer much to MAB to fight Sotto. I won't be surprised if, given that Soto is considered mandatory next to Pacquiao, Arum shall be in no mood to make it easy for Golden Boy and MAB. Or, at the very least, make it a lot less lucrative for both.

I'm also thinking that if MAB wants to pad further his already comfortable retirement kitty, there is no other road paved better with gold than Pacquiao-Barrera II. He should talk to Schaeffer of Golden Boy to talk to Arum so negotiations can begin. Neither MAB-Soto nor MAB-JMM can come close to the prospect of huge revenues than Pacquiao-Barrera.

I am also thinking of the scenario where MAB stubbornly refuses to face either Pacquiao or Soto and goes on with his meeting with JMM. If that happens, he can be stripped by the WBC, which, then, can put together a championship fight for the vacated throne between Pacquiao and Soto.
If that happens, Golden Boy stands to lose much and Arum will be laughing all the way to the bank.

But with that said, I dunno that serious negotiations can be conducted while that court case is still pending.
