come on man. comparing those losses are crazy. number one,,,,purrity was a strong durable heavyweight with some power,,,,he had knockouts over joe hipp and jorge luis gonzalez who werent world beaters but still guys that had some ability and a draw with morrison decking him twice. wlad was green and hadnt been past the 6 round at that point and simply totally ran out of gas after dominating every round. he wasnt knocked out by punches his corner just stopped it becuase he had nothing left. gomez on the other hand was knocked out cleanly,, early by a fat sloppy light hitter. anyway,,,,I think gomez is underrated and is obviously a hundred times better than diaz but it still makes you cringe a bit knowing he was knocked out early by a guy like diaz even if he was only at 50% of himself that fight

yea,,,in shape and focused he'd dominate toney. I'd give hima 50/50 shot against iggy and a 40/60 shot at chageav. he has top 10 ability for sure but it still makes me leery watching that fight with diaz even if he was out of shape and high

He's a lot better than those guys IMO. Ibragimov had a horrible fight with Austin who is nowhere near Gomez's class. I've not really seen the other fella. Gomez would be no Shannon Briggs. He's a hell of a lot more mobile, active and more talented.

yea,,,but that austin fight was obviously a case of iggy being out of shape and looking past him. just look at his weights in fights before and after. he was 231 for austin and 220 against whitaker,,,briggs,,,al cole where he looked much quicker and sharper. but still,,,,jcg would give iggy big problems and I sure wouldnt wanna bet on that one unlike when he fought briggs
