I know a lot of ppl are gonna say this is poor opposition for Briggs. But Thysse is one tough mother****er. He might not be that big a threat, but it's gonna be damn hard for Briggs to end it early. It just seems nothing really bites on Thysse.WBC#1, IBF#10, WBA#6 light heavyweight Paul Briggs (25-3) will be back in action on February 4 when he meets South African Andre Thysse (19-7) over twelve rounds at the Homebush Sports Centre, Homebush, NSW, Australia. Against Kessler Thysse really shouldn't have been stopped ahead of time. Sure the fight was getting increasingly one-sided. But there was nothing to suggest Thysse couldn't have lasted to the end. It was obviously what he was fighting for during the later stages of the fight and it wasn't fair to deny him that under the circumstances. Kessler could dominate him but he couldn't floor him.
The same goes for hot SMW prospects Brähmer and Bute. They couldn't stop him either.
