How did you reach that conclusion? was it the victory over Walter Matthysse or the knockout of the seventy five year old Mitchell?

I guess the Margarito vs Williams fight can prove it, if it happens we will be able to see if Williams is really the real deal or not. His first step was to be the WBO Mandatory and he is one of the few fighters who called out Antonio Margarito. Once again should Williams beat Margarito then some people can judge, I have seen him fight 4 or 5 times and Its just his style that impresses me, he throws a lot of punches and I think it will be effective for him in the future, he is 6'2 with 81 Inch reach...

And Mitchell was out of his prime but you cant take away the win from Williams, Mitchell is a two time world champion, and Matthyse to his credit was an undefeated Prospect who was ranked by Ring in the top 10 welterweights before his fight vs Williams.

He does have a good chin and good work rate, his power is questionable thou, he hit that dude in his last fight with everything he had and the guy kept coming, Sharmba was KOd twice in his last 3 fights or so before he met Williams and Matthyse just got tired. Matthyse rocked him a few times with those looping punches a good inside short distance puncher like Cotto or maybe even hatton will tear him a new one.

Mitchell was whipping Tszyu's ass in the first fight, before his knee went out. Many thought he was going to upset Tszyu and I was one of them, because I was under the assumption that his knee had healed completely and that would be a nonfactor in the fight. After being knocked out, he confirmed that he was a shot fighter by A.) Not showing anywhere near the mobility that once made him a threat as a fighter. B.) Having trouble with an inferior fighter in Smith. C.) Making Floyd Mayweather Jr look like Mike Tyson, not using any lateral movement whatsoever and virtually running around folding.

Mitchell was done by the time the Williams fight was even a prospect.
