Humberto Soto Demands Fight Vs. Barrera

Declaring himself as the mandatory challenger in view of the probable demise of a Barrera-Pacquiao rematch, Humberto Soto is demanding that Marco face him instead of Juan Manuel Marquez.

Soto said, his right to face Barrera in the event of a failed MAB-Pac rematch was guaranteed during the last WBC confab.

"I am first, and if he does not want to defend against me, he (Barrera) should abdicate the title so that I can fight the next ranking contender for the world crown," Soto said. Soto dispelled rumors that he is stepping aside so Barrera can face Marquez. "I am not afraid of him and I do not avoid anybody. I am ready for the best and they are the ones who do not want to face me. If he (Barrera) is afraid of me, then he should just give up the title," Soto added.

Soto deserves his shot. His win over Juarez was more convincing than Barrera's first win over Juarez and he has waited a long time for a chance at a world title.

Does a loss against Soto blow up a potential clash with Pac? Or is MAB's performance against Soto meaningless based upon what we saw with Morales losing to Raheem.

I think a loss against Soto would stop Pac vs Barrera II happening. Pac wanted Morales because Morales had beaten Pac. Barrera is the one that has the axe to grind where Pacquiao is concerned.

Top Rank is basically trying to corner Barrera for the WBC title. He either has to fight Pacquiao or Soto(both Top Rank fighters) to defend his belt.

If Barrera decides to fight Marquez, then the WBC belt will be vacant.

In all honesty, Humberto Soto deserves the fight but Barrera won't take it. At this stage of his career, Barrera doesn't want to get involved with a young guy like this who can fight his ass off all night. This is a much, much more dangerous fight financially than Pacquiao, when you factor in risk and reward.

Welcome to the world of boxing genious. He fought the dangerous "young" Rocky, now you want to discredit him. You are one ****en hater to the fullest, relax pacquioa turned down the fight with Barrera so he don't have to run into Barrera, so no need to hate.

Soto defently deserves his shot. Would be another dangerous fight for Barrera. But if he could box for 12 rounds with Rocky he could box 12 with Soto.

If it's true that the WBC confab confirms Sotto as a mandatory then this fight should happen. Now let's watch and see if WBC can strip MAB with the title. I seriously doubt it. WBC = $$$$$!

Barerra already took a risk in fighting a young up and coming fighter in Juarez. He doesnt need to do it twice. He has bigger fish to fry.
