I heard about him awhile back and Ive seen a little footage of they guy, does anyone know why he hasnt attempted any kind of step up in competition?Hes beat some "decent" journeymen meaning hes beat beat people who have taken a step up in competion, his last opponent has losses to Oquendo,Akinwande and Byrd and a win over former champ Lyakhovich, the opponent before that VitaliK,Povetkin, and Akinwande, before that he beat Bruce Seldon, his opponent before that has losses toToney and Jirov and CW. Just curious that the state the division is in hes a BIG guy with a decent punch and hes 31 is he ever going to take a step up?

I dont think he'll do well either Im just questioning why the people hes beaten have taken further steps than he has I mean hes beaten a man who beat Lyakhovich who was just world champion why does he not at least give it a shot I mean Ray Austin is fightin for a title, Briggs was out of breath half way through the first round, I just dont understand why he hasnt at least attempted a step-up fight

Tye Fields has a decent record with 37-1, 34 kos but hasn't really beaten anyone of real mention that would get hw boxing fans excited. He needs to beat someone ranked in the top twenty or someone of mention like an Evander Holyfield, Oliver Mccall, etc. if he wants to take his boxing career up a notch. Being overly cautious in opponent selection won't get a journeyman or fringe contender like Tye any big money fights nevermind title shots. Just ask JCG about this.

If you haven't seen him fight, Jesus Christ you aren't missing anything.

I think he makes Valuev look like Arturo Gatti.
