Yep i was exagerrating a wee bit. But c'mon....31 years old is young. And Joe Calzaghe is 35 years old. So i think the Eubank was as good as an opponent as anyone for Joe Calzaghe. Does experience count for nothing as wel? EUbank had all these championship bouts and Joe was a young upstart.Comment

Bare in mind Eubank'd come through all-time brutal bouts in Benn I and Watson II, and that his skin used to turn grey before weigh-ins (and that he was the most active world champion in history).
If the Calzaghe fight took place at 175, Eubank wouldn't of been near as scrappy.Comment

boxing age is different from chronological age. usualy the lower in weight you go the younger the top guys are. reflex and speed are the most important elements in the lower weights and reflex's are the first thing in your body that start to slow (in your late 20's) they only slow by somthing like half a second but that half a second can be crucial in a fight.
guys in the heavier weights can last longer. the punch is the last thing to leave a fighter which is why guys like Foreman can still whack guys out and become champ in their 40's.
mental prime and the amount of tough fights a guy has had also come into play. eg Ali was spent physically in his mid 30's but Lennox Lewis was in his prime at that age.Comment
