I was 57-13 as an amateur with 12 stoppages. I defeated world amateur champion Darin Allen, future heavyweight contender Melvin Foster, future WBO middleweight champion Otis Grant (when he was #2 in the world), future IBF rated Joey DeGrandis, future WBC #1 Lamar Parks (twice) among others.
I also lost to future #1 ranked pro Joe Lipsey.
MOST amateur records you see are WRONG. It would be hard to find a guy 138-3, etc..... too much comp at the national level...even top flight amateurs have double digit losses. Breland is the only one who had a SPECTACULAR amateur record that I can verify was factual, 110-1. Only loss was early in career to Daryl Anthony, back in 81' before he really made his nameComment

i am going for 60 to 80 amatuer fights then i plan on going pro when i am 20 or 21 or when i think i am ready.I was 57-13 as an amateur with 12 stoppages. yEAH, I THINK 70 WAS PERFECT FOR ME. A lot of guys have 200 or 300 fights and that is a lot of experience but it is also wear and tear too. The think is I beat guys like Darin Allen, Otis Grant and Terry Christianson who had close to 600 fights between them....once u reach a certain amount of fights and experience you can be as ready as a guy with 200 fights. Over the course of my last 30 or so amateur fights they almost all came in national or international fights so that means a lot. If you want to gain experience then don't worry about picking and choosing fights like they do in the pros..in the amateurs, once you feel like you can REALLY handle yourself, fight anybody you can get a fight with. Actually having the fights is even more important than if u actually win or lose them sometimesComment
