VERSUS is doing a wonderful thing for boxing!

this is what ESPN had the oppurtunity to do but blew it big time.

Versus, or OLN, has apparently gotten the MESI and RAHMAN card. Thats like a Showtime or HBO's BAD card.

Thats really cool. More cards like this and it'll be hard to ignore this channel. Every boxing fan is gonna want to tune in

I think they could eventually play a very big role in boxing, especially when SHOWTIME gets into MMA and turns down some of the cards. Versus could pick them up.

Well, Vs. had the huge advantage of being in bed with Top Rank (this is a Top Rank-exclusive series), and with Rahman being with Top Rank--and a potential Rahman-Mesi fight in the works--it makes perfect sense.

ESPN would probably have paid more for it, given the opportunity.

I agree...VS has had some GREAT fight cards last year. Mostly recognizable names in great style matchups. ESPN has been putting on some ****ty cards the last few years. I guess when they cut the budget things really went down the tube.

The Friday Night Fights lineup on ESPN2 that's been announced is weak. VS. has replayed a few of their fights the past week that I've been able to tape, that I missed earlier.

What sucks is they didn't label Foreman vs. Morrison as boxing so I missed it on the grid. It was just a "Legends of the Ring" special. I hope they replay it again...

I've got the directv sports pak - and many of the fights are not live, but there's boxing on about every night on at least one non-ESPN Classic channel. Just got to watch Darchinyan-Pacheco on the 23rd, Carlos Hernandez's last fight that same night, and Kelly Pavlik's last one was on last night...
