Hector was completely different because Hector was a street punk from Harlem. Paulie was never into that street **** as a kid, he was a straight ahead kid all the way.

I know but he has his swager and Pizazz. Camacho chased down people with bats and went to Rikers for stealing a car. Paulie is a class act.

[QUOTE=Hot Topic;2018060]What people don't realize (or wish to ignore) is that Paulie is a genuinely nice guy. I'm serious, if I didn't know he was a boxer, he could just be another kid I skateboard with or play X-Box with. He's a genuinely great guy with a sort of relaxation to him that makes him very approachable. I dunno why people hate on him, I guess you can't win them all over.

I'll admit that I couldn't stand the kid when he was talking all that trash before the cotto fight but after the fight I had respect for him & I also felt he paid the price for talking so much so, the hate is gone on my side. I look forward to seeing him in the future & I hope he does good. I can tell that all that talk he does is for show so I've learned not to pay any attention to it.

Paid the price for salvaging what might have been a PPV failure? Listen man, when it gets to the big money and the high risks of pay per view television and you don't have an A1 star in either corner, you gotta promote it or else you may never see that plateau again soon if the show isn't a success.

Malinaggi carried that show and made it big, Cotto has no charisma in my opinion and is lucky he is PR or he wouldn't be as rich. I hope he does great in the Cherry fight and HBO uses him more.

Exactly, the sell was a combination of Malignaggi's personality and NY appeal and Cotto pretty much just being Puerto Rican. Cotto isn't Tito, Tito was a totally different person with regards to relationships with his fans. Tito was something else as a person. I still think there will never be another PR hero like Jose Torres, however.

Oh hell yeah, I agree with you. Like I said he was putting up show to get buys. I'm not hating on him for that. He did his thing when it came down to selling the fight. If he hadn't talked so much there wouldn't have been so many buys. He understands business.

I once read that Wilfred Benitez turned down a Million dollar endorement deal cause he wouldn't and couldn't learn English. I read later he had the IQ of a ******, but I don't know if that was true.
