    Why does'nt Calzaghe mention Kessler?

I'm not saying he is scared of him, but Kessler is the only guy in that division that is a threat to him, I mean he says he will fight Hopkins, Jones Jr and Taylor, he even mentioned Tarver I think, but I have never seen him say he will fight Kessler. Kessler has a damn good jab, and he is really big, If Calzaghe really wants to retire after 4 or 5 more fights these should be his next 4 opponents after Manfredo:

    Hopkins
    Taylor
    Kessler
    Jones Jr

if he beats all of them obviously he will be a HOF and an alltime great, but thats a BIG IF, He faced Bika and now Manfredo, whats up with the opposition, and does'nt WBO have any mandatories? because neither Bika or Manfredo were mandatories...

I have a feeling that even Manfredo brings more money than Mikkel Kessler.

Mikkel Kessler is a very very big name in Denmark, even in Europe he is, if calzaghe fought kessler, does'nt matter in denmark or england, this fight would have been much bigger than the Manfredo one.

Manfredo is a much, much bigger name in england and in europe than Kessler.
Against Beyer there were less than 10K in the stadium.

It can be big for Brits and the Danish but other than that it wouldn't be, and no.. it's not bigger than Manfredo-Calzaghe in terms of numbers.

            Money.

There's a megamoney fight this coming summer in the states for Calzaghe, against either Taylor or indeed, as remarkably seems rather likely, Hopkins. Sadly those who pay the bills deem beating up Manfredo as a necessary publicity exercise for that goal. Sad but that's the business these days.

Kessler is pretty irrelevant outside Denmark. I mean seriously you'd struggle to find anyone outside of the keyboard warriors who have seen anything more than Beyer quitting against him. Robin Reid would generate more for the Calzaghe retirement fund.

No American boxing fans have heard of this Kessler guy, outside a couple of dozen internet obsessives. He's never been on British TV, either.

Taylor and Hopkins at MSG are far bigger fights for Calzaghe to establish himself in America (which has been his goal since 1981) than some average European robot who you never heard of before this year and who has yet to fight anybody even on the same stratosphere as Robin Reid, Richie Woodhall, Charles Brewer or Byron Mitchell (not to mention Eubank and Lacy).

Joe has earned the big American pay-days more than anybody, he thoroughly deserves them. He's waited long enough and had enough frustrations throughout his career. **** this Kessler guy, he can wait.
