A representative of K2 promotions talked to gazeta.ru and said that Wlad has decided to hold the next defense against Ray Oustin.

He made it clear that he was gonna unify with Maskaev in the Garden. Which would prabably sell out the garden because its a much bigger fight AND its got the unification aspect as well.

He should knock Austin and one other guy out before end-of-year unification with the likes of Peter or Toney. That would make for a legit championship. No one would make much of the Maskaev unification because too many would ***** about the way Peter-Toney were avoided.

He knows what hes doing and he also knows that Maskaev keeps bull****ting around and the wbc and the ibf will not allow them to fight so he will get Austin out the way and then unify, this is a smrt move if its true because he just faught in November now he will fight in March giving him time to get an opponent for unification, great stuff...

why am I not surprised? I said this fight wouldn't happen. The belts will never be unified again by the way things are looking - at least not this decade.
