  • Cintron Looks To Squash Mosley

IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (27-1, 25KOs) is confident that he will become the first fighter to knock out three-division champion Shane Mosley (43-4, 37KOs) when the two fighters meet on February 10, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mosley has been campaigning at the junior middlweight division for the last year, but moves back down in weight to challenge Cintron. The fight will be showcased by HBO. [details]

Cintron will be to strong , hit to hard and to tall for SSM, I love SSM but on this one I like Cintron by TKO

This could be FOTY potential IMO, I'll pick Shane by close decision.

Yes, but no that;s not the reason, Kermit is far better boxer than people give him credit, it is a fact that he is a strong puncher....can't denied that....SSM has problem with taller fighter.....that go to their right....SSM has problem with the upper cuts.Kermit can hit you with upper with both hands, Kermit left hook is probably second to Cotto in the division....SSM can get hit by the left hook regularly as he depends a number of times on his overhand right....SSM is not the speedy blaser he once was.....

Mosley is not that good anymore, and hasn't been for a while (compared to his former p4p days). Cintron is a solid fighter but will never be what Mosley WAS. That makes this an interesting fight, and a hard one to pick a winner for. Cintron has the freshness and power, whereas Mosley has the speed and experience.

I'm tempted to take Cintron by close decision but Mosley may be able to KO the lesser experienced man in this fight, much like Margarito did.

I'm going with Mosley by one of those highlight reel KOs that defined him in his younger days. Cintron is just so vulnerable to power punches still.

i think mosely is much faster than cintron. cintron is slow, he might hit hard but even with his new trainer his boxing skills are not there.
at 147 a faster and slicker boxer would beat mosely, this fight might as well be at 154 they won't be fighting as true welterweights.

I agree that people are giving Cintron too much credit for doing nothing. However, Mosley is not the same guy he once was. He's fought 3 top-level opponents in 6 fights and the 2 he won were controversial. He really hasn't beaten enough quality guys to be considered great, especially lately. He's slowed down considerably, but he'll cruise to a UD against Cintron.
