Isnt it funny that pernell fought just a few years ago and he is completely forgotten. I mean people talk about roy, oscar, tito, b-hop, **** them. Pernell is far more skilled than all of those media boys. I say he is 43-3, straight up man.

pernel was damn fine man he was damn fine he could do defense like no other but im telling you man the guy belonged in cuba fighting for the amatures winning world amature titles and keeping chummy with castro !

he'd been the perfect lightweight amature legend ...but for him to take his skill to the pro ranks and do so damn good is what makes him a top lb 4 lb of all time!

if you put him in there with a guy who just had power ....like say a garcia he'd beat his ass and make him look ****** ...but a guy with pressure like armstrong i just dont think he could stay on his toes that long

Looking into Armstong reccord he did have a lot of loses early on, very surpriseing and he lost his first fight.

Whitikers scare that people forget is, Wilfredo Rivera -twice Rivera won, twice robbed.

Henry Armstrong is quite possibly the greatest fighter of all-time.

Ray Robinson is probably greater, but you can make a decent argument for Hank.

                  Not true.

whitaker had an offense. He had a terrific right jab, a good straight left hand, and was a terrific bodypuncher. He could stay at range, slip shots, and throw hooks to the body. just because he wasn't a big puncher, it doesn't mean he didn't have any offense.

u can say that for lots of guys with good defense and a lack of a big punch. Hell, u can say that for some guys with power as well.

the point is he had a decent offense and a good assortment of punches.

he wasn't like a cory stinks.
