    Hopkins Vs Who?

I just read the article regarding B-Hops return to the ring and who he wants to face. Obviously he wants Maskaev above all else, but the article then goes on to mention some other possible fights for Hopkins.

In order of Hopkins' preference: Calzaghe at light heavy, Roy Jones Jr and O'Neill Bell. The question is: who out of this list of fighters (including Maskaev) do you think Hopkins is most likely to face?

Also, is Hopkins making a mistake staying in the fight game at 42 (although Maskaev and Jones jr are no spring chickens at 37)?

I hope he fights Calzaghe next, but it wont happen cos Joe's promoted by Frank Warren.

I think he should fight Bell for the Cruiserweight title, then Heavyweight.

I hope he fights Calzaghe, or Calzaghe fights Taylor, I really want to see Joe fight a big name. Also, Frank Warren might be a wanker (and he probably is) but he's a businessman and would probably make a decent fight if he can get the right money.

I know what you mean, mate, but I just dont see Warren risking his only world star against Hopkins, I really don't. He might risk him against Taylor but I really can't see it against Hopkins. The only reason Hatton fought Tszyu was because he was threatening to leave Warren. Calzaghe isnt, and won't, and so I don't think he'll get the Hopkins fight. There'll be some excuse from Warren, just like with Haye vs Maccarenelli and god knows how many other fights that never happen.

Most like to see him fight Calzaghie, not a huge fan of either but dislike joe more and want him beat which im sure Hopkins would do. Also id like a Jones rematch coz even tho i think it would be a dull fight, i see jones pot shotting his way to a UD and im a big Jones fan so would like to see him back in the P4P rankings which a win over B-Hop would do. Most likely he gets the Maskiev fight tho.

Good point. As a fighting man Calzaghe must surely want to fight the best (and has been quoted saying so) but if he doesn't step up and demand to fight them then I would have to concede your point that Warren won't let him. Which is a big shame because Calzaghe is wasted on fighters like Lacy who wasn't an established boxer like B-Hop, Lacy was (I hesitate to say "is") a good prospect rather than someone at the top of his game.

Hopkins wants Calzaghe, Calzaghe wants Hopkins. There should be no reason why this fight cannot happen.

Let's hope not, but you know what Warren's like he will try to protect his investment, which I suppose doesn't make much sense because if he wants a maximum return on his boxers he should want them in the big fights.
