alright. here's how i see it

1-floyd mayweather jr. especially inside the ring. the kid is the smartest fighter today imo.
2-winky wright-mainly because of his defense.
3-james toney-yes, he is out of shape which is why he's behind wright but the man is a smart fighter in the ring. his ability to roll off punches are phenominal.
4-i may get bashed for this one but i don't care, joe calzaghe. he is smart boxer and at the same time very fun to watch.
5-last, i'll go with taylor and here's why. the man is sloppy with his punches, lacks many technical skills in the ring and looks sloppy in many of fights to date, but when you beat hopkins, who is one of the smartest fighters of his genertation which just your physical abilites and aggressiveness that says a lot. and, those are his strongest traits. i'm pretty sure he knows he is a sloppy fighter but he also knows he stays active in the ring and even against winky wright who many feel he lost to stayed physical and active enough to make the fight a draw. plus, he's still undefeated too, which helps. so those are my top 5 in boxing today. now, some honorary mentions are ricky hatton because he stays on you with constant pressure and paul williams who does need to work on his defense but is a very smart offensive fighter who is still undefeated.

Floyd Mayweather is the smartest, but Manny Pac is p4p number one.

Clearly though, James Toney has the best *******.
