  • "Greatest Fights" have to have star power? No?

What is the TRUE critieria for an "all time" great fight?

To some extent both combatants have to have been well known. Right?

Did you ever see Holyfield vs. Cooper? Or Gatti vs. Rodriguez?

    Or Arguello vs. Rooney? (J/K)

These fights had drama, shootouts, and stunning turnarounds. Wild exciting stuff I'm sure many here are familiar with.

What is your greatest but less heralded fight(s)?

Not the greatest, but really fantastic fights featured a relative unknown WBA SuperBantam champ named Mahyar Monshipour from 2003 to last year. He had two stubborn fights with Salim Medjkoune, another with Shigeru Nakazato and still another one against Julio Zarate. He was TKOd by Somsat Sithchawal in the tenth round in March this year and lost his title after 4 hard-earned, bloody but nontheless successful defenses.

He is of Iranian extraction but fights out of (and mostly IN) France.

You guys would have seen a good little war if you guys seen the Telefutra fights. The Bradon Rios v. Tapia was a good toe to toe non stop action fight, all that was missing with that one punch power from either fighter. But they showed good skills and tons of guts.
