Here's a quick list off the top of my head of guys with excellent left hooks:

CW & HW: Frazier, Dempsey, Tyson, Tua, Holyfield
    168-175: Jones, Foster
    154-160: Robinson, Trinidad, DLH
140-147: Trinidad, DLH, Chavez (more to the body), Leonard
    130-135: Chavez, Corrales

pretty good list but the only exception I would make is DLH. I dont think it is as good at SWW as it was in the lower weights but thats just splitting hairs.

Duran doesnt make the list at 135 or 140

Bob Foster deserves to be on that list over Jones at SMW and LHW

            It's not in any order.

Duran's straight right hand and right uppercut to the body were his best punches, IMO.

Actually he had basically every punch in the book.

Trinidad's left hook was a thing of beauty.

I dont know if it was the most powerful left hook, but Fraizer's hook was the best I have seen imo.

The best left hook of all time P4P was Ray Robinson, who could pretty much do whatever he wanted with the left hook. He could convert it to a 3/4, an uppercut, he could counter with it, he was a wizard. The best left hooks at heavyweight are Joe Frazier, David Tua, Mike Tyson, Floyd Patterson.

                    Tyson's left hook

I'd say that Mike Tyson's hook IN HIS PRIME(1887-1989) was about as good as it gets. This assessment would include any weight division at any time in history. I'm not saying it was the absolute best but was among the best that I've seen. My rationale is he the speed and sharpness that he through it. Very accurate and thrown in a well balanced manner. Threw it very well to the body or the head of an opponent. Like anything Tyson has done it must be looked at when Tyson was in his prime(1987-1989). He still had good tools after 1989 but he was clearly slipping in his sharpness post 1989.

Damn, thats some prime right there. 102 years, imagine the fights that could've happened. Tyson-Jack Johnson, Tyson-Joe Louis, Tyson-Fitsimmons, the possibilities...
