    Strawweight - Flyweight 2007 preview

    THE STRAWWEIGHTS

The smallest weight in boxing’s huge catalog of divisions, has yet to see anything interesting since Mexico’s Ricardo Lopez dominated will get some much needed exposure in 2007 but not that much with Ivan Calderon moving up in weight.

    Key fighters :
    Eagle Kyowa 17-1
    Yutaka Niida 20-1-3
    Florante Condes 21-3-1
    Rodel Mayol 23-1
    Omar Soto 11-0-1

Best available fight: Any championship fight, it just has to be made.

    JUNIOR FLYWEIGHTS
Just a notch under a glamour division, Flyweights struggle for stardom with their superstars just falling short of the grade to making it big time, but that will change once Ivan Calderon puts his undefeated record on the line with the very best they have to offer.

    Key Fighters :
    Ivan Calderon 27-0
    Hugo Cazares 24-3-1
    Omar Nino 24-2-2
    Brian Viloria 19-1-1
    Koki Kameda 12-0

Best available fight: Ivan Calderon vs. Omar Nino or Hugo Cazares. The Strawweight super champion needs only the best to prove that he is not just an ornery fighter. Omar Nino despite testing positive for steroids or how they say “drugs” still holds a win over once hopeful Brian Viloria, and Hugo Cazares is the number one rated for having defeated fighters like Puerto Rican Nelson Dieppa.

You forgot about Rachman, he's a champ and should definitely be in your 105 list, even if he ducked Calderon.
