From left, welterweight contender Jose Luis Zertuche, two-time world champion Jorge 'Travieso' Arce, Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum and unbeaten jr middleweight Vanes Martirosyan pose together during a press conference to officially announce Top Rank's big championship card at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on January 27, live on HBO. In the main event, super flyweight Arce will take on Julio Roque Ler and in a compelling middleweight showdown unbeaten Kelly Pavlik will battle former Mexican Olympian Zertuche.

glad you understand the world of boxing...

unlike some who already wanna see Vanes in the ring with De La Hoya

No seriously though, Shelly Finkel is doin a great job managing VANES, the man has rushed a fighter before (Fernando Vargas) and doesn't want to see Vanes take the same road and end up like him.

With that said, Vanes has still faced decent opposition and 9 of his 11 fights have been against fighters with a winning record.
Thats much better than any of the stars today can show for the early part of their resume.

Yeah people say the same thing with Amir Khan... and a lot of younger fighters but it's better that they take it a little slowly and not end up shot when they are 29.
