I understand what you are saying but either a belt is **** or it isn't. Your arguement is that Hatton gives validity to a belt. Well I say why does Hatton need a belt.

I and most of the boxing public acknowledge Hatton as the lineal champ at 140lbs especially now that Cotto has moved up to 147lbs. With or without a belt would'nt make me want to buy the Castillo fight anymore than if it wasn't for a belt, I'm sold just fight already.

I and many others would've just liked to have seen a better opponent for the setup fight with Castillo. I like Hatton fighting Castillo a lot just wished he would have more fights against top opponents.

Rabah vs Urango doesn't matter: The belt should rightfully be Hatton's. Hatton is the lineal champion, his posssion of a title makes it part of his lineal crown, whoever he beats for such a title does not matter, Rabah and Urango are both just pretenders.

Should Urango beat Hatton then Urango becomes the true champion, his fight with Ben Rabah doesn't matter.

well obviously i understand that im not a ****in ****** , what im trying to say is

hatton went up and won (in some people eyes ) a lucky decision over yet another paper champion , now what you say is true he was the man at 140, but he has no right to go back down to 140 proclaiming hes still the man there

and even if he was and if everyone knows , why fight the worst beltholder in boxing for a belt , why not fight a top contender and fight JLC for the ring belt

I see where you're coming from a bit now, though I do think you're coming at it from the other end of the argument, but I take your points.

As for Urango, then it might actually be a good showcase for Hatton, as the guy's so big he'll have to box more (I imagine it'd be like his fight against Ben Tackie) so he could put some of the "Hatton wrestles all the time" accusations to bed. Besides, the guy's been out of the ring for eight months, so I give him the pass for that,.

Hatton was stripped of the belt, not his lineal championship.

            aren't bigger fights.

Hatton has every right to still be seen as the lineal champion. Because he is. A short term move up in weight does not change that. If he had stayed at 147 then he'd have lost his lineal status after a couple of fights.
