Actually I never fought at the casino in Hampton Beach myself but I have been to many of the shows there and workled corners for several fighters..those shows are always GREAT..the atmosphere, the setting, the beach right across the street, the summer feel to it all... that's where Mickey Ward fought that great fight with Emmanuel Augustus.

If Ward-Augustus had gotten half the press "Ward-Gotti #1" had gotten, Ring magazine would have called that the "Fight of the Year" too.

That's not to denigrate Ward-Gotti, btw, I was at both of those fights - I say that more as a testament to Mickey Ward being the toughest S.O.B I've ever seen ... and I thought he won that first fight with Gotti, too, I sat ringside - it was close, to be sure, but there was a right answer there, and that was wrongly decided (I'm sure there have been too many posts about that issue to count though, so I'm not gonna try and revive an old, and very bitter debate)
