Almost same hand speed does not beat certain power advantage. In my opinion mosely has what it take to give hard fight but not to win. Oscars strenght gives him that much advantage.
The GREATER challenge for MAYWEATHER: MOSLEY or DE LA HOYA???

The left-hook seems to be a good counter to Floyd whenever he starts unleashing his right hands. Floyd has been absolutely drilled by left-hooks from: Chavez, Castillo, Corely, Judah, Augustus. And we all know what kind of left-hook DLH has. If he connects with it, we'll see exactly how good Mayweather's chin is.Comment

i THINK mOSLEY AT 154 WOUL'VE BEATEN FLOYD, BUT NOW AT 147, HIS POSSIBILITIES ARE EVEN WITH OSCAR'S.
AND WE KNOW THAT IF DE LA HOYA LANDS A "DE LA HOYA" LEFT HOOK, ITS OVER FOR FLOYD, EVEN IF HE HAS A GREAT CHIN, OSCAR DESTROYED GRANITE CHINED MAYORGA WITH THAT PUNCH.Comment

Sugar definitely is the greater challenge as far as boxing goes..He is super fast, super quick and has super duper power..But pretty boy would pick him apart because he tends to swing for the fences when he gets hit..
DLH is greater due to the money issue...bottomlineComment

Hmm. This is actually a really good question. I don't think there's any doubt that Oscar is physically stronger and punches harder the Mosley; but even at 35 Shane still seems to have some of his speed, albeit against a shot Vargas.
Which type of fighter is Mayweather likely to have more trouble with, the taller, lankier De La Hoya, who's bread and butter is his jab and left hook, or the shorter slightly faster Mosley?
I'd have to go with Oscar. Oscar's size and hook have a better chance of giving Mayweather trouble because Mosley's speed at this stage of his career is negligible against Mayweather's....and I don't feel Shane hits hard enough to really hurt Floyd, where Oscar does. Also, Floyd's style offers only one obvioius opening...and it's not so obvious; and that's for the left hook to the jaw.
So, to me, between Oscar and Shane, De La Hoya offers the tougher picture.Comment

DLH will ko pbf late in fight
DLH will still be the slower fighter, even with pbf moving up to 154. I think floyd will be sweeping the rounds on points and even making dlh look bad at times, and then dlh will score big with the left hook and it will roll downhill fast for pbf. Pbf has never been hit with anything like dlh's left hook and it will be too much for him. If Mayorga could not handle it then there was NO WAY pbf could take it.Comment

mosley hasnt looked too good in his last few fights, yeah he beat vargars, but only after Vargas was ripped up by trinidad and beat by DLH, lets not forget the long lay off
the 2nd fight with DLH, even thos mosley got the win, anyone who saw that fights knows DLH won, but Oscar thru it all has shown more and more
at this point I think Oscar is a better fighterComment

Nah, its the weight. No way Floyd is stronger at 154. You cant say that a guy is going to get stronger every time he moves up. He will be weaker and maybe even slower. I pick Oscar as the toughest fight because its at 154Comment

I say Mosely. DLH is a great fighter but he's lost ALOT of hand speed as he's moved up in weight & gotten older. He might have a good jab & a great left hook, but he's going to have to land it to be effective which I don't think he'll be able to do consistently. Mayorga was able to hit him with punches that a few years ago he wouldn't have been hit with. And with a counter punching specialist in MAyweather, he's in for a long night. Mosely is fast & powerful. He also has a great body attack particulary with the left hook downstairs which if he's on, he can make it a rough night for Mayweather.Comment
