He is a master at it but he is also a punch picker to a major major fault!

Look at his fights with Taylor...he fought a guy who almost everyone agrees still has a ton of amatuer in him and all Taylor had to do was let his hands go regardless of landing and he was going to have a 50-50 shot at a split against the great Bernard Hopkins.

Hopkins can pull that punch picker **** off with Howard Eastman and Antonio Tarver but not some you kid like Taylor regardless of how weak many think Jermains skills are he has the key ingredient to give Nard trouble everyday of the week and that is punch out put.

Not gonna happen, and even if it did, I think Hopkins beats him. Roy is just too shot. Just cannot get over how quickly Roy became soooo SHOT. Its a shame.

It just so happended that he fought a guy who really truly did not throw punches at all.

Tarver has lost four fights in his career and in all four losses you can make the case that at times during the fight he quit.

He definately quit against Harding and Hopkins.

He quit for large portions of his bouts with Jones and Johnson.

He was the perfect opponent for Nard but dont be fooled into thinking that Bernard would come out and put a hurtin on the ultra cautious Jones cuz he wouldnt...those two ego maniacs would stair at each other for 12 rounds, probably get 300K ppv buys and dupe the general sports public (not boxing cult fans) into thinking boxing is absolutely shot!

Its not shot but let me prmise you this Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones have no more good they can do our beloved sport...they have done a ton of good but there time has passed they are interested in perfect/style opponets that will bring in money and that is it and that is the last thing our sport needs.

            **** both of them!
Oh, don't get me wrong, Scap - what you say is true, but the Hop must know he's got glass in front of him with lessened reflexes. Hell, even that guy last time out managed to get him to do the jelly leg boogie before he started hyperventilating.

Think about this Anrak my man...

Bernard had a dead man in Jermain Taylor in front of him the last 3 rounds of their first fight and what did he do?

                What did he do?

He sat back and played the conservative game...Bernard only knows one way to fight at this stage in his career, to expect somethng different even against glass Jones maybe asking too much.

That fight might not be the most intersting fight of all time, but I would see it. I might be a sucker but I would even pay to see it. Just to see who wins and how, even though I can guess how.
