    Boxings GOLDEN AGE????

Lots of people say its the 70's, as their was an enourmous talent pool and a tremendous fan support.

But i say, how can that be, when a ***ish Lightweight by the name of Benny Leonard could sell out Yankee Stadium, have another thousand fans linger outside the stadium begging to enter, in the early 1900's?

Some say that the depression and the ***ish domination of boxing in the 30's lead to a 'slump' for boxing (as ***s were mostly in new york and such) But before that, Boxing was easily the most popular sport, and for a long time AFTER that as well.

The 80's by far IMO, and I don't exaggerate saying 'by far'.

The sheer depth in the 80's was amazing.
