I disklike the way Manfredo is handling things..so what, you were on "The Contender", big deal, you didn't even win the thing...Joe is still the Champion, has a better resume, and is undefeated.

It's not even like that show was that popular, at least not on national television...Not to take away anything they do, but I couldn't even watch the show, not enough talent in my opinion.

And if he thinks "Popularity" is greater than what you achieve in terms of skill, well, maybe he is right, Paris Hilton is very popular and she has little talent

is it just me or shouldnt manfredo be distancing himself from the contender... seeing as he is meant to be credible and all.

Manfredo used the wrong word. Calzaghe is not "unknown" he simply lack backings and followers in U.S. due to lack of exposure in the the area.

Manfredo is Frank Warren's wet dream...here you have a fighter with ENORMOUS popularity in the states who poses only a modest risk toward his champion...perfect scenario if you ask Mr. Warren.

Manfredo has impoved however...who knows how good this kid is? Sure he got beat buy Alphonso Gomez who is really nothing more then an A level club fighter but his improvement of late is certainly noteworthy.

Calzaghe will win but it should be a bit more competitive then anyone is expecting.

i read an interview where calzaaghe was giving praise to manfredo. calzaghe is not popular with casual fans i guess that's whta he's trying to say.

Peter didnt say ANYTIHING that wasnt true or outof line...I didnt get the impression AT ALL that he was trying to down Joe or disrespect him.... I am in the gym every day and I GUARANTEE you that if you go to an average American gym and ask five boxers in the gym who each guy is , at the end of the day, more will say PETER MANFREDO.

True Calzaghes not known ova here as much i believe he should have been he should have moved it on to the next level after the beat Eubank for the title all them years ago, but i think after he TEARS Peter up and ppl who dont believe thats gonna happen are very unrealistic i think that will really set him off with a bout with taylor or hopkins next year by the way the way things are going hopkins gonna be nearly finished by the time that bout comes around and the way taylor lookd vs Ouma i cant see any off them guys really giving calzaghe many problems maybe winky but again a true light middleweihgt vs a guy who could hang in Light-heavy narrr easy win maybe Kessler & Adamek for me but where the money in them bouts?

Fredo's gonna get hurt here. From what I've seen of him I think he lacks the power, workrate, speed and stamina to pose any threat to Calzaghe. Feather fisted Mora hurt a gassed out Peter in rounds 6/7 of their first bout.
I've heard he's improved since then, but going up in weight and fighting the best 168 pounder sounds a bit too much for him.
