lawrence cole suspended!!

great news!! i just read on ringtalk that lawrence cole (referee for jaca - marquez) is suspended for the farce he pulled a couple weeks ago.

just for some inside info - lawrence owns a big insurance company which insures all of the BIG fights on HBO. he wants to pay as little as possible for hospital bills at the end of the shows, which is why he said jmm was up by 4 rounds. the guy is a crook, plain and simple.

He DIDNT KNOW THE SCORES!!! he was just tryin to calm the guy down. Maybe a tiny fine of like 100 bucks, but NOTHING more...

Thats a conflict of interest. It's like, hmm, let me stop the fight before that cut gets any bigger so I will have to pay for less stitches.

You're correct. Theres a conflict of interest. as a referee he should not have any stake whatsoever about the result of the fight.

Let's just disregard the whole JMM incident. What about the fact that he can't referee for ****? Did you see the Berto/Figueroa fight? In the last 5 seconds of the 1st round Berto had Figueroa against the ropes and was just rocking him with power punch after power punch. Figueroa's legs were limp and the ropes were all that was holding him up, he was basically down on the mat and Cole didn't rule it a knockdown.

Fast forward to the second (I believe) round when Berto hit Figueroa with a stiff jab, knocking him on his ass completely. Cole ruled it accidental when it was clearly a decisive knockdown. Not to count the multiple times in rounds 4 and 5 when Figueroa was taking astonishing amounts of punishments via lethal left hooks and right uppercuts. Any other referee would've jumped in right there, but Cole turned a blind eye and let the massacre continue for another 2 rounds before finally having "enough".

That's just his most recent **** up, I could go on and on, but I digress.

Suspend him my ass, ban this ******* and do it quick.
