I thought it was relatively easy to score in that I couldn't see how Castillo won. It was a close fight in most terms but easy to score, despite being close. Mayweather, and later tonight I'll probably watch it again and score it again to be safe since I have some free time.
castillo vs mayweather 1

Floyd controlled the pace of the fight and when the two engaged. He also consistantly displayed better defense, clean punching and more effective agressiveness.Comment

you know what
I watched it again the other day with a friend who asked for a fight were pbf lost. I picked the closest thing to that of course.
I did not even bother scoring it, I just enjoyed it.
and concluded three things:
1. ppl who dont understand the ones who had jlc winning are biased mayweather nuthuggers/castillo haters
2. ppl who dont understand the ones who had pbf winning are biased castillo nuthuggers/ mayweather haters
I think that for category 2 the cure is understanding is that not dominating is different from losing, and that compubox counts a lot of meaningless punches (arms and shoulders)
for category 1 the cure is watching more boxing and understand infighting.
In general i reccomend enjoying a good fight and see proably the hardest test for the greatest fighter of this generation,
and I gather this great chance to remind everone why you should answer "bull****" to anyone suggesting that outboxing castillo is easy bcos he is short. (ffs, he even beat mayweather to the punch at times, how could ppl say "corrales should just use his range, and he is going to win easy")Comment

Castillo was walking at times running after Mayweather constantly throwing punches. It is hard to tell at times which landed cleanly and which didnt.Compu Box may have counted some punches that landed on his shoulders and what not but Castillo clearly outworked and landed many more punches than Mayweather.Castillo outworked Mayweather and was also effective countering Mayweather so called jab to the body.He looked like at times he had no other choice than to run out the way instead of his usual ring movement. Yes the fight was close because Mayweather had his moments but like I said IMO Castillo won it. Ive watched this fight to many times already and I get the same result everytime.Comment

I felt Castillo took the fight to him and got the better of PBF and got flat out robbed in the end.Comment

Thats how I felt the first time I saw it. All the debating made me go back and watch it many, many times over and I still have Castillo winning.
Easy fight to score?
Hell no.
Especially if you had Mayweather up.Comment

I'd like to know how you scored the rounds. Not to talk ****, just to compare. I think I had PBF up 5 rounds to 2 after the 7th. And I got distracted after that (when I watched it last weekend), so I wasn't as focused, but I had PBF winning 115-113, which is how I had it the first two times I watched it.Comment

When I scored this fight, I decided to give all the close / relatively even rounds to Castillo. And it was Still a draw at 113-113.
In Actuallity I these are my previous fight scores upon different viewings: 114-112 Mayweather / 115-111 Mayweather / 113-113 Draw / 114-112 Mayweather
I think this fight was either a draw or a Mayweather win. I just don't see how people can score Castillo winning.
Floyd won 5/6 first rounds CLEARLY, and he won rounds I believe 9 and 11 very clearly. That's 7 rounds right there, and some of the rest of the rounds were close enough to give either way, which conceivably could give Mayweather 8 rounds to 4.Comment

The best thing to do in close fights is watch it 3 times. Focuse on one guy the first time then the other the second and the 3rd watch everything. No commentatores. I did this with oscar vs tito and after doing that no one will convince me that oscar lost.
This fight I have only seen once and I had it very close for castillo. I don't think he got enough credit for body shots.Comment
