Why doe he have to fight Williams, when fighting Cotto is a step and a better fight than Williams? Williams has done nothing to prove has to have this fight, Cotto is the more proven fighter and would be a tougher opponent not to mention would draw more money and a bigger crowd. A Cotto Margarito fight would draw more and be a better fight, not to mention the Mexican vs. Puerto Rican angle and rivalry, that alone will draw and attract people to this fight. I also think that this would be a a crowd pleasing war where one would get knocked, because you have two guys that can punch and both like to come forward. Makes for an exciting fight.
