I was reslly impressed by Kassim's heart last night, considering the level of opposition. I was rooting for the smaller guy, but after seeing the way that Jermain was easily pushing Ouma around and landing some hard shots, I didn't give Ouma a chance past 7.
But he proved me wrong with an admirable display of gameness and heart, as well as a damn good chin. Obviously he won't thrive at 160, so I'm excited to see him travel back to 154. The fight probably showed these Jr's that Ouma is a tough customer, and it probably gave Ouma at least a slight aura of invincibility.
And it wasn't acting whne he raised his hands after each round, it was an act of defiance. Of The Dream showing that he was going nowhere.
His going back to 154 is not the Hatton-esque move of retreating from his threats. It's a celebrated return to his rightful throne.
