    Roberto Duran

    Folks

Call me naive if you will, but aside from that dodgy victory over Ray Leonard, didn't Roberto Duran get his ass kicked by anyone half-decent he fought? And as a consequence, isn't he vastly overrated?

Watched him quit on his feet against Ray Leonard again last night, nothing but a ****ing *****...

      Lightweight...

Just because he jumped a couple of weight divisions don't mean he didn't square up against a lot of bums (Ray Leonard/Wilfred Benitex notwithstanding).

          Sorry

          Didn't mean to sound confrontational.

Duran started at Light and finished at Super Middleweight, jumped divisions, but in my eyes beat no one credible (aside from that dodgy decision vs Leonard).

A bloke in the pub last night tried to tell me Duran was the greatest boxer ever. Laugh, I nearly cried...

          Respect...

But he lost to them all, aside from Leonard first time (Which was a farce).

Frank Bruno fought some great boxers, didn't he? But it don't make him anything less than a glass-jawed oaf.

I've no beef whatsoever with Duran, just can't help thinking he was vastly overrated, and I can't stand people telling me he was so good.

Same goes for Tommy Hearns, decent boxer who got tagged as soon as he scrapped someone half-decent. Glass-jawed skinny guy. If Hearns had had anything about him, he'd have finished Marvin Hagler before Marvin kicked his ass.
