    Yup, another Taylor thread

I'm definitely a Taylor fan and have been since the first Hopkins fight, but he definitely still pisses me off. He keeps his hands too low, doesn't jab enough, is slow on his feet, and is off balance way too much. Anyone saying that he looked good last night is off. No doubt he won the fight. No doubt he won at least 8 rounds, with 2 more being toss ups. But doesn't it scare you that a guy moving up from 154 can take so many of his clean shots? Ouma has a VERY solid chin, but DAMN. Last night, Taylor proved that he has very limited inside fighting skills and not much defense. He was able to hang with B-Hop and Winky because their styles. But if Taylor gets in with a pressure fighter better than Ouma (Calzaghe), then he could be in trouble. I really hope he gets back to the gym and Manny Steward works with him on some of the basics cuz he's lacking some fundamentals. I'm still a Jermain fan, but he really disappointed me last night by looking so sloppy.

He didn't look to different then he's looked in the past, though i thought this time he put some really nice combos together, and had good timing, timing Ouma as he came in while Taylor blasted with bombs and Ouama took them. Calzaghe i've seen him being willing to punch with his opponets, and if he and Taylor fight i would expect a brawl from round one. I dont' think Calzaghe can win a boxing match, cause as someone mentioned Taylor looks to need room to punch. And Calzaghe, being able to out box opponets, it wouldn't surprise me if he tried to outbox Taylor but I think the Calzaghe-Taylor fight would be a brawl, well actually a bit of both, some boxing and brawling. Taylor just likes to fight and thats why i wouldn't count him out in a fight against Calzaghe. Calzaghe who does seem to be more polished then Taylor but thats just there styles, a win is a win. Close fight though i'd have to favor Taylor, just because he will be moving up, maybe stronger, and will be able to handle a punch better as he moves up and it may add some more pop to Taylors punchs. And i didnt' notice Taylor slowing down noticable or that it effected him much cause Taylor imo, threw bombs for all 12 rounds.

Taylor was VERY effective last night when he lead with the jab and followed with the right hand. He landed some good combinations. But there were too many times when he could've followed with a left hook and didn't. He was still off balance after missing and IMO Calzaghe would tear his ass up if he fought like he did last night. If he settled down, worked the jab and threw down the middle then he could beat Calzaghe. I was just really hoping he looked sharper last night cuz as you can see, throwing bombs may be exciting but you can't knock everyone out. Sooner or later you're going to run into a guy who can effectively fight back.

I know where the hate for Taylor is coming, I hate him myself, but I don't get why people are surprised by his flaws from last night. They've been there his last 3 fights.

Not having a jab, poor defense, wild, etc. It's all been there. Winky hurt him in the later rounds and a 2-3 year younger Bhop would of knocked him out in the first fight.

As a person, I like Taylor. Great guy. But there's not much there other than HBO hype.
