There was no reason to stop the fight. Taylor landed some good clean shots but he still got walked down a lot and did not throw as much as he should have. The fight was closer than that Arkansas crowd would make you believe.

Ouma does not need to change his style. His Compubox record-breaking style is what him a champ at 154. He will control 154 in the future with this same style.

Yeah I mean all of the really big bombs for Taylor were pretty early in the fight. If Ouma was getting tagged like that then the corner could step in but Jermain tends to fade as a fighter and he wasn't throwing as many big rights so there was no reason to stop the fight. Ouma-Quartey or Ouma-Spinks are still very interesting fights

Imo, if Oumas corner really cared for there fighter they would just have stopped the fight after say 8-9 rounds. Ouma was eating a ton of leather, he makes Margarito look like Whitiker. You save your fighter from a beating like this because you belive in him, and so he has enough for his future fights. It was clear in my mind that Taylor was winning. Theres was a lot of times Ouma would rush in, most of the time face first, and get in the inside with Taylor then he either throws one or two pitty pat punchs or he didn't do anything at all. His corner could have saved him for future fights instead of allowing him to continue as they did.

The bombs from Taylor were for 12 rounds, but yes, less in the later rounds but still Ouma keep taking every single punch. He was a punching bag for Taylor. You remember Chavez v. Mayweather? Chavez was landing more on Mayweather, then Ouma was on Taylor but Ronnie Shields protected his fighter and stopped the fight and it was a much closer fight then the Ouma-Taylor fight. And that in return imo, save Chavez from further punishment but i still feel that stoppage was premature because Chavez was in the fight all the way and looked to be winning. Here we knew Ouma was loseing.

You are, quite simply, overstating the 'beating' that Ouma took in this fight. No one makes Margarito look like Whitaker. That is laughable.

Ouma showed me a few things at middleweight. 1. that he can fight at middleweight and 2. that he can take a middlweight punch. Oh, and Winky knows why he ducked Ouma, and if he didn't know before he knows now. Ouma would stand a better chance at beating Winky.

Just trying to make it a point that Ouma got hit a lot more then Margarito did against Clottey, yet the Margarito hate was in full force after his fight with Clottey. Ouma take a billion punchs and nobody says anything.

I agree very much that Ouma would have a good shot vs Winky, and that guys like Taylor are just too clinchy and big for him. Mainly clinchy. Taylor should have opened up, because he does have the skills I think. Maybe he doubts himself.

I didn't see it that way. I thought Taylor opened up a lot. Ouma was just very tough and surprising how he was able to take the shots from Taylor. Taylor fought his fight, Ouma couldn't do anything really.
