Mayorga was decent at welterweight. If he could make the weight it would be close.

Mayorga's not THAT powerful, and Baldomir's all about the pressure. He'd love it if Mayorga tried that with him. Baldomir's got too much skill and too much
experience for Mayorga's wild, wide punches to be a problem. I have a feeling that Baldomir would be perfectly happy to stand and **** with Mayorga.

I'd put this one as far from pointless
            - whats pointless about a very exciting matchup, & an impressive win by either would probably get them a shot at Cotto or Margarito.

Way I see it, either Mayorga blasts out Baldomir within the first 6 rounds, or Baldomir wins by UD or late stoppage.

Comes down to how much Mayorga has left, but if he can get himself motivated, think it would be an exciting fight.

I put this fight on my wishlist because on paper it seems like a good match-up of styles and personalities. Both fighters have alot of pride and would want to impose their will on the other. I suspect this fight would be a long hard fought battle with Baldomir prevailing via late round KO or UD. In any event, this would be a great undercard for any of the big HBO fights going on next year.
